A heart chuckle left Cho Kyuhyun’s lips, ‘Nice try, Y/N, but I do know that both your parents are tall and so is your brother.’

And as if it was on queue, in walked the love of your life. Kim Heechul always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. Your height was something that always got people teasing you. It honestly wasn't your fault and people generally tended to just look over it. But with a tall boyfriend like Heechul, people were bound to see the 20cm height difference.

‘Oppa!’ You yell, running into his arms.

‘Is my little kitten being harassed by our evil maknae?’ Heechul asked, cuddling you in a hug.

Closing the door, Heechul pulled out his tongue at them. Yeah his mental age was way in its adolescence but his childish qualities is what made him most lovable. You still had your arms around his waist as he used looked down at you with a sweet smile on his face before smirking and bending towards you.

‘Aigoo,’ He pretended to complain, ‘I will have back issues by the end of 35 because of you Jagi.’

And there we go,You roll your eyes and step away from his touch, ‘Then eat more vegetables.’

Truth of the matter is, as much as Heechul was your knight in shining armour, he was also your pain in the ass. He was quick to defend your honour but quicker to tease you back. The one thing that made you fall for Kim Heechul was his childish quality, a quality that he used a lot since the two of you had started dating, and what a long three years it has been so far.

‘I’m only teasing sprite,’ His affectionate nickname coming into play.

‘I hate that name and you know it.’ A pout on your lips.

‘But it’s adorable, like sprites are cute and tiny but just as sassy and devilish.’ He pointed out, ‘And you, my little jagi, are just as devilish as I am expect you play the innocent card way to often.’

Grabbing the food you wanted, you both said thank you to the ladies who served your food before walking to the table were the rest of the Super Junior members sat. Leeteuk, Kyuhyun and Yesung sat on one side with Shindong and Sungmin on the other. Shifting down, they allowed some room for the both of you to join.

‘Should we find a table that allows your feet to touch the ground Y/N?’ Yesung held back a laugh.

‘Or maybe one that has a lower table?’ Kyuhyun chipped in.

Just shaking their heads, the other stood up and left. They had all finished their food anyway so it was only logical to leave. Alone at the table, you wanted a serviette that was on the end of the table. One would be able to reach for it in a jiffy, but you weren't like everyone else. You didn't wanna reach cause you knew Heechul would start his teasing again.

‘I know you need the serviette.’ Heechul cut your thought, ‘Would you like one my little sprite?’

‘Would you stop call me that?’

‘Nope.’

Not winning this argument, you allowed Heechul to grab it for you and lovingly wipe the side of your mouth. Bending down, he placed a kiss on your forehead. Heechul was an asshole at times, but loving just as much. Finishing up, the both of you walked to the studio but you lingered slightly back cause you had gotten a phone call.

‘Where is Y/N?’ Sungmin asked.

‘Probably still coming, you know her short legs can’t keep up with us taller people.’ Shindong said.

Your heart grew ten times in size. You loved the boys and treasured them very much. The teasing did use to get irritating but you figured it was how they showed love. He is very affectionate with you, no matter the situation. You knew from the moment you met him how flirty he was, and that often translates with how often he likes being as close to you as possible so he can tease you.

You were very aware of how popular he was when you first met him, you brushed his behaviour aside as him just trying to be nice. It was only when he began to call you and ask you out for coffee you began to think that maybe there was something more to the two of you. It never bothered you though where the two of you were, Heechul always made a date exciting regardless of where you both were.

It’s no secret that he’s been on several dates and been in several relationships, but none of them tended to last. He’d never allowed it do discourage him as he always held out for the one, who he felt like he’d found with you. There was something between the two of you that felt different from all his previous relationships, you stood up to him and didn’t always give him what he wanted, which he loved. He loved how you pushed him to the limit and made him work for his relationship like no one ever had done before.

At times it felt like Heechul was too busy for there even to be time for the two of you to argue. If you do, it’ll take time to get over it. He tries not to let them effect his work, but there’s been several times when he’s arrived at a broadcast and had to fake a smile. The whole journey home is clouded by thoughts of going home to you, and when he does, that’s when the two of you sort things out. Neither of you ever argue over anything massive, but you certainly have your moments, just like every other relationship does too. He’s hot tempered at times, but he works hard to always have control around you.

G ⇴ GETTING TO KNOW HIS FAMILY

The most important thing to Heechul is his family, he was more nervous than you to introduce you to them. If anything, it helped you bond with his family quicker as you joined in with their teasing and made sure he knew how stupid he was for ever fretting. He tried to convince you it was his plan all along, but you all knew better than that.

He’s very comfortable at home, things are done exactly the way he likes them. It would take him along time to build the bond that would invite you to move in with him, it was a very gradual process. Little steps were best for you both, slowly he began to move you in and get comfortable with the changes before eventually moving you in properly.

Of course, he was the first to say, ‘I love you,’ he’s a bit of a romantic at heart. He’d come back after a long day to see you’d sorted everything out at the apartment, and his heart just swelled. His arms wrapped around you, twirling you around as he whispered those three words into your ear as just a small token of his appreciation for what you’d done.

He never really got jealous in your relationship, he enjoyed seeing you happy and getting on with all his friends. That was also something you tried hard to do, you knew it was in his character to be flirty and confident, but sometimes you wondered if he did cross the line. Heechul would always be able to tell when you were beginning to feel uncomfortable, which was where his affection came in, pulling you away from the group or the situation and giving you a huge reassuring hug.

It was a subject that Heechul hadn’t given much thought to over the years as he was so focussed on his career. Only when you mentioned it one night did Heechul really begin to think about it. His sarcastic and witty remarks would always take you by surprise when you least expected them, unable to stop yourself from laughing at him. He’d spend all day making you laugh if he could, it was his favourite thing to do.

He’d spent enough years travelling to adapt to being away from home, but that all changed when he met you. He felt like he was making his debut again, with a heavy heart and fogged mind as always, his days were spent thinking of you. He’d try and make things easier by sending you plenty of videos on tour, but his schedule was always so busy it was hard to find the time. Even if he went away for a day or two because of filming he struggled, he’d become so used to having you around, that it felt strange not having you around. He never thought he’d go back to the stage of yearning for someone, but then he met you.

Playful. That’s the best way to describe Heechul, nothing is ever serious with him, and sex is included. The two of you have shared many intimate moments when suddenly he’ll tickle your sides or poke your cheek to make you laugh. Summary: When the team goes overboard with their “group chat without Leeteuk” joke, it's gonna take more than a few buttering up attempts from Heechul to get them back in the man's good graces.

After so many years of being around each other, the Super Junior members like to think they have each other figured out. Mostly. Or at the very least, what makes them tick, so they'll never make the mistake of stepping on a landmine.

But there are still times, of course, where they push, stretch, and overstep. Those are the times where they rely on the rest to help patch things up, tightening the seams till they're back to what they were before. It's just unfortunate that none of them are good at dealing with such a situation when it comes to the eldest Jungsoo.

It all begins, as it tends to, with a joke. Harmless teasing on camera, something that can be edited into a highlight clip to increase viewership when the episode airs. That's what they're here for, after all. To promote.

“We can't talk about these things with Teukie hyung around,” Hyukjae is saying, smiling wide. “So we do it in the group chat without him.”

Jungsoo prepares to react to the joke, the same one they've been using throughout their recent show appearances. That's when something slightly different from the norm happens—Heechul joins in, sounding excited. The real kind of excitement, where he's bouncing on his feet, gummy smile a mirror of Hyukjae's.

“Yah, I get exactly what you mean! Like, remember when we wanted to eat jjamppong just before a recording? Teukie would've killed us if he'd known.”

Even more unexpectedly, Hankyung speaks up as well, the words falling from his lips fluently, as it always does when the situation suits him. “Ah, I remember that! It's amazing how we managed to finish all that food within ten minutes.”

As the other members mumble some form of agreement, doubt begins creeping into Jungsoo's mind. The rest shared a memory he doesn't recall in explicit detail. It's not in their style to make a running gag this believable—unless it's not a lie?

He makes a grab for the nearest member, who so happens to be Kyuhyun. “Kyuhyun-ah, give me your phone.”

Kyuhyun just blinks at him, a tiny crease between his brows, and Jungsoo wonders if he sounds as hysterical as he feels. But he's fixated now, and he won't rest till he gets a definite answer. Jungsoo musters his tone of authority and repeats, “Phone, now.”

Someone grabs his arms then, grip loose, and he lets himself be held, remembering that they are still on camera. It's Sungmin. “Hyung, don't worry, we're just playing around. Of course we don't have a group chat without you!”

“Really?”

Sungmin squeezes him, once, sincerity dripping from his voice as he promises, “Really.”

Jungsoo manages to smile, and even crack a few jokes, but unlike the previous times, their reassurance doesn't work its magic, doesn't clear that fog of doubt from his mind. It eats at him even after shooting ends and they're about to go their separate ways till their next schedule, so he sets his eyes on the member he's sure to be able to get an honest answer from.

“Siwon-ah!” Jungsoo calls out, crowding the man into a corner. “What was that all about?”

“What was what about?”

“The group chat!” Jungsoo lowers his voice to a hiss, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention. “I thought it's fake, but the story just now seemed too real. Is there one after all?”

Siwon, bless him, gives Jungsoo a firm pat on his shoulders, looking directly into his eyes as he explains that it is indeed a real story—“Excuse me?”—but that it didn't happen in any group chat. It had been a starving Heechul, a few scheming managers, and other members who were in on the little affair.

“I swear to God that we don't have a group chat without our leader. We would be lost without you.”

Would you really? Jungsoo bites back the urge to ask. They may not have a group chat without him, but they seem to be going behind his back regardless, aren't they?

Leeteuk is an angel, but on some days, Park Jungsoo would knock on the door of his mind, needing an out. This time, he lets it happen; a sporadic decision he makes after careful consideration. Even the leader deserves to be a little petty when he's hurt, doesn't he?

It's two weeks before anyone even notices the man's changed his number, and for the first time, not a single member has access to the new one.

Hyukjae's the first one who opens up their group chat after the filming that seemed so long ago, just to notify the rest of a few things to note for their upcoming dance practice. He's nearly done with his draft when he realises the number of people in the group doesn't add up.

It’s a few seconds before a reply comes in from Jongwoon.

☁️ Teuk hyung isn’t inside anymore. There’s no notification that he left though?

🐵 Did he change his phone number again?

☁️ No idea, I didn’t hear anything about that.

🐵 Guess I’ll ask the manager to relay the message to him then…

Not thinking much of the relatively common occurrence, Hyukjae relays what he’s originally intended to, and tosses his phone aside, returning to his task at hand. Heechul’s text comes in much later, still blissfully ignorant.

See, the thing is, it’s impossible for any member to avoid another completely. Not when they're a contract bound idol group currently actively performing and filming for their comeback. Let alone when it's the leader who is, for the lack of a better word, brooding.

Jungsoo is undoubtedly a professional in every sense of the word, performing his duties without a hitch at their next group activity, where he so happens to be the host. No one else would've noticed how things are off; the way Jungsoo's smile is a little too bright, his words a little sharper, his posture a little stiffer.

They confirm it when Youngwoon makes an attempt at a jab but is cut off by Jungsoo. It's done smoothly, both parties reacting suitably in a way that it seems intentional, but the message is clear: somehow, somewhere between the two schedules, they've pissed Jungsoo off. Their guard is immediately up, unwilling to take any risks at worsening their situation when they don't have all the facts yet.

Jungsoo, being him, notices the change in his members immediately. Well, good. They can suffer for a bit for once without knowing anything. Meanwhile, he intends to make the most out of the three hour filming.

And he does.

Of course, Donghae brings up the issue the second they arrive back at the waiting room during filming break, as usual too small for a group as large as they are.

“Hey, isn't something awfully wrong with Teuk hyung today?” 

“Yeah, he seemed pretty mad somehow,” Kibum agrees with a frown, eyeing the doorknob as if Jungsoo will come barging in with a lecture any second. They all know Jungsoo doesn't take breaks when filming, though. “Should we apologise to him?”

“How can we apologise when we don't even know what we did, if we even did?” Ryeowook points out from the chair he's claimed, a half empty bottle in his hand. He sets it down on the table with just a tad too much force, his next words spoken with a pout. “If anything, we should be asking why he changed his number without telling any of us.”

From where he stands in Ryeowook's blind spot, Kyuhyun rolls his eyes, no doubt remembering the man's wails about the time he called Jungsoo's number to have a stranger pick up. His words seem to have an effect on Siwon, however, the man's eyes widening as he straightens from where he's been leaning against the wall.

“Ah!”

“That's never a good sign,” Shindong mutters, on point as he always is.

“I think I have an idea of what Jungsoo hyung is mad about—…”

“Fuck's sake,” Youngwoon groans after Siwon recounts his previous encounter with Jungsoo. Someone slaps a palm over their forehead. All heads turn to Heechul, who's been tapping away on his phone the entire time.

First you found out your boyfriend was rich, and now, as you approached the large mansion that was complimented with thousands of different plants and flowers, you definitely knew Jasmine’s parents were rich as well.

You slowly approached the large double doors. It was such a simple object, but it was still the most beautiful door you had ever seen. The buzzing of the doorbell made it even more memorable.

“Who is it!” A sqeaky, but familiar voice spoke through the intercom.

“It’s Y/N.” You yelled, trying to hold back a giggle. You heard a couple of locks becoming unhinged, and felt your eyes pop out of your head when you saw your friend. “Oh my goodness.” You whispered, immediately running into her arms and squeezing the life out of her.

“You literally look exactly the same! How is that possible!” She screeched as the two of you jumped around in a circle.

“Me? You look even younger than you did when we first met.”

“Cousins.” She said with a bright smile on her face.

“Oh.” You cooed. “Words cannot describe how happy I am for you, Jas. Like this is literally your dream come true.”

“Thank you so much, Y/N. Now enough with the emotional buisness. Let’s eat!” She clapped, prompting you to follow her into the large kitchen where her large family sat. You could already tell which one was her mom. They looked like twins.

“Mrs. Kim.” You ran to her, bowing.

“You must be Y/N.” She smiled. “I’ve heard so much about you since we got our precious Jasmine back.”

“Yeah. Too much.” A long haired male choked.

“Shut up, Heechul.” Jasmine spat.

“Haven’t I already told you, you want no parts of me?”

“Excuse those two.” Her mother interrupted. “Heechul has no filter. Please sit.”

You sat down in the large chair, stomach growling at all the food that was infront of you. “Don’t mind if I do. Hi cutie!”

It was one of the twins from earlier. You just wanted to squeeze his cheeks. “I’m not cute. I’m handsome.” He said with his chest out.

Heechul sighed dramatically, putting the last piece of food he wanted on his plate “In a world where I live, I think you’re neither.”

“Shut up.” The other twin said.

“Yeah!”

“I will fill your room with every thing you’re terrified of.”

“Heechul will you please stop threatening the children!” Jasmine yelled.

“Will you get a job?”

You didn’t know what to do, and when everyone at the table began to laugh exactly the same, you were even more confused.

“Excuse them.” An older man said at the head of the table. Jasmine’s dad. Even in the early morning, his clothing was still luxurious. Silk pajamas complimented with what you assumed was his initials. “Please.” He motioned towards the food on the table. You put everything they had on your plate, and began to eat.

“This is so delicious.” You moaned out, taking a moment to truly appreciate the fine cuisine.

“Yeah whatever.” Heechul scoffed. “Let’s talk about why you’re here.” He smirked, “Looking for love? A one night stand to remember?”

“First and foremost, she’s not thirsty like you. Secondly, there are kids here, and lastly, Y/N has a boyfriend. That’s why she’s here.” Jasmine winked at you from across the table.

“Wait...you have a boyfriend? With that outfit?”

You couldn’t help but snort even though you were being roasted.

“I happen to like the casual look. It’s different.” Mrs. Kim said.

“Yes. His cousin is getting married this weekend and I was invited as his plus one.”

“He’s Korean?”

“Yup.” Your smile couldn’t be brighter thinking about Jaehyun. You knew if you looked at your phone you would find a text from him, telling you how much he missed you.

“What’s his name, by the way?” Jasmine questioned as she put some kimchi in her mouth.

“Jaehyun.” You said calmly.

Suddenly everyone in the room froze. Jasmine choked on her food, the twins dropped their forks, and Heechul looked as if he could pass out.

“Woah woah woah...Jaehyun who?”

“Jaehyun Jung...” you trailed off suspiciously, eyeing everyone closely.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Heechul gasped. “You’re dating Jung Jaehyun? Like top bachelor Jung Jaehyun?”

“Rich as fuck Jung Jaehyun? Like richer than anybody in South Korea?”

“We’re rich.” Her dad said, leaning across the table. “They’re richer.”

“He’s pretty.” The twins said in unison.

“Girl! His family literally built the Seoul we know today. They got old stacks! How did you meet him?”

“We met back in LA. I went to this festival that I didn’t want to go to, and I met him.”

Heechul looked more offended than you had ever seen someone. “Why are you so calm? You do realize that Johnny and Rose getting married is the equivalent of the Royal Wedding here, don’t you?”

“Really?” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing.

“Yes!” They all yelled together.

“Wait, does this mean that you’re going to the dinner tonight?” Jasmine whispered.

“Yeah. I finally get to meet his mom.” You sighed.

“Are you changing your clothes?”

“Wel I figured it was nothing wrong with this.” You picked at your clothing one by one.

“Uh uh girl.” Jasmine said, getting up from the table, Heechul right on her heels. “I will not let you fumble the bag like this. Get up.”

“What’s wrong with my outfit?”

“Everything.” Heechul said, grabbing your wrist and dragging you upstairs.

Two hours had passed filled with you being forced to try on different outfits. There had been so many that you liked, but according to Jas and Heechul, it wasn’t perfection.

“Family, I think we found the one!” He yelled, clapping his hands in excitement.

You couldn’t deny it. This outfit was absolutely a killer. You felt yourself getting hot just from looking at yourself.

“Woah.” The twins gasped.

“Isn’t it so her, but not bummy at the same time?” Jas squealed.

“I have to say guys, I’m thoroughly impressed.” You said, twirling around.

“I wish I could see the look on Jaehyun’s face when he sees you.” Heechul dragged. “Unfortunately I have a date to get ready for.”

“So you don’t want to ride with us? After all this hard work?” You fake pouted.

“Well since you’re begging...” he trailed off.

“To the Jung mansion we go!” Jas yelled.

“Did you put in the right address?”

“I think so.”

“I mean, it makes sense.” Heechul explained. “You can’t be the richest family in South Korea and then live on the main road. It’s not logical.”

“True.” You and Jas said in unison.

“Shit. Are those guards?”

“Don’t worry.” You said confidently, remembering what Jaehyun told you to say. When you pulled up, you rolled down your window. “Good evening, sir.”

“Who are you.”

“Rude.” Heechul said from the back seat.

“Y/N. Y/N L/N.”

“Boys we got a Y/N L/N here.” He said through his shoulder walkie talkie.

“Let her through.” The other man said.

“It’s your lucky day.” He smiled before signaling for the double j gate to be opened.

“Holy shit.” Jas breathed out as you drove around the long driveway.

You know you said Jas had the nicest house you had ever seen, but that was all in the trash now. This was the definition of a masterpiece. Everything about it screamed royalty. So many people were getting dropped off by their valets. You felt like you were in Hollywood. No, this was better than Hollywood.

“You’re actually dating a Jung. Like what the hell.”

“Yes I am.” You said in a scared tone. Suddenly all the pressure was trying to crush you. As you stepped out the car, a goregeous smile made you lose your breath. “Jae.” You whispered. In moments like these, it was like the only person who could hear him was you. He was in a velvet suit, complimented with a wrist watch you were for sure cost more than anything you had ever bought.

“Damn.” He came up to you, kissing you softly. “You look so damn good.”

You felt like a middle schooler as you couldn’t help but stutter. “Me? No..no...that’s you.” He kissed you again, and you could care less who was looking. You were on top of the world right now.

A loud horn interrupted your smooch, and also scared you to death.

“Sorry.” Jas said, leaning across the passengers seat. “Slipped.” She cleared her throat, and you knew what she wanted.

“Jaehyun this is my friend that I went to go see earlier. Jasmine. And her cousin Heechul is in the back.”

“We dressed her.” He said with a childish smile on his face.

“Oh really?” Jaehyun questioned. “Well I think it would be pretty rude of me to not invite two people with such great taste to the party.”

“Oh no.” Jas sang. “We should get home. You know... it’s dark and I can’t see.”

“You sure?” Jaehyun smirked, his dimples making an appearance.

“Well, you know I guess it wouldn’t hurt to stay a couple of minutes? You know?”

“Yes. Just a few minutes.”

“Stay as long as you like.”

The two of them laughed awkwardly, clearly starstruck.

“Let’s go in, shall we?” He opened his arms for you to wrap your own around, and you allowed him to lead you inside. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of Heechul and Jasmine going in the trunk to change out of their pajamas.

His house was the definition of a dream. You felt like you were dreaming.

“You really do look so beautiful, baby.” He whispered in your ear, kissing it softly.

“Are you trying to rile me up so soon?”

“Maybe.”

“Well well well.” A voice called out. A red haired boy was approaching you and your boyfriend. You didn’t know whether he was Lucas or Yuta, but you knew he was one of them because he was on complete model status right now.

“Yuta.” Jaehyun spoke. “Surprised you’re here on time.”

He rolled his eyes. “I’m not always late.”

“Hi.” You smiled.

“Well hello, beautiful.” He grabbed both of your hands and kissed each one. “You must be the Y/N I’ve heard so much about.”

“I’ve heard a lot about you too.”

“Like?”

“That you’re a model.”

“Oh babygirl.” A deeper voice spoke. “We’re not just ‘a model’, we’re the models.”

“Never forget it.” Yuta added on, fist bumping his brother.

“Lucas.” He introduced himself.

“And on that note.” Jaehyun grabbed your hand, leading you away. “Sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. They’re fun.” You said in a child like manner.

“You ready to meet my mom?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” You took a deep breath, allowing your boyfriend to open the kitchen door for you.

“You’re fired!” A slender woman yelled. “I asked you to do one simple thing, and you can’t even do it. Get out.”

“What? I did it perfectly!”

“Not perfect enough. Goodbye!” She snatched the bowl out of his hands, and started to finish making whatever was in it.

“Mother.” Jaehyun spoke softly.

She looked up, angry eyes softening at the sight of her son. “Oh Jaehyun. You look so handsome.” She quickly ran and hugged him, clearly not realizing you were in the room as well.

“This is my girlfriend, Y/N.” He said, grabbing your hand.

She took your hands from his, sqeezing them. “Oh...nice to meet you...Y/N.”

“Nice to meet you too! I’ve heard so many good things about you and I’ve been so excited to meet you.”

“I’m gonna let you two spend a little time together.” Jaehyun smiled, secretly sqeezing your behind affectionately before walking back to the party.

“So...how long have you been dating my son?” Her demeanor was much different now. She wasn’t evil, but you could tell she didn’t play about Jaehyun.

Your smile still dazzled. “Two years.”

“Really?” It wasn’t a question. More of a statement. “What do you do for a living?”

“I do hair. I’ve been working at a salon for almost theee years now.”

She moved back to her bowl, where she no longer felt the need to keep eye contact with you. “Is doing hair your passion?”

“100%. One day I want to open up my own salon, or maybe even do hair for celebrities. One step at a time though.” You laughed, she didn’t.

“How do expect to pay for that? You certainly don’t expect my son to, do you?”

“Absolutely not.” You answered quickly. “I actually didn’t know how rich you guys were until like yesterday.” Once again, she didn’t find your jokes amusing. Why was this so difficult? What were you saying wrong? “I would never ask him to pay for anything for me.”

“He paid for you to get here.”

“I had no idea.” You sighed in defeat.

“Hm.” Was all she said. You were about to try and ask about her, but someone came in. “Mrs. Jung, your husband would like to speak with you. He’s on the phone.”

She didn’t even excuse herself. She simply left. You needed a drink. Actually, you needed Jaehyun.

“How did it go?” He questioned as you approached him at the bar.

“She hates me.” You pouted, putting your face on his shoulder.

“No one can hate you. She was probably just irritated because of the guy she fired.” In reality, Jaehyun had no idea.

“That poor guy.”

“I warned you.” He kissed your forehead. “But don’t worry. She’ll warm up.”

You wanted to tell him about the fact that she seemed disgusted with your life choices, and also question why he wasn’t more surprised, but Johnny approached him before you could.

“I need help bringing in some drinks. Mind if I steal him?” He winked.

“Not at all.” You sighed. The minute Jaehyun was gone, you dumped your head on the bar.

“It’s frustrating isn’t it.” A voice spoke. When you turned around, you saw a face that you didn’t know could exist. He was unreal. “Trying to impress her only to have her shut you out.”

“Are you married to one of them?” You were hoping to make a friend who survived this, getting a chuckle out of the slim boy.

“She’s my aunt, but my parents are just like her. I could make a billion dollars and they still wouldn’t be satisfied because it wasn’t two.”

“That’s not cool.”

“What do you do for a living anyways? How much property do your parents have?”

“None.” You whispered embarrassingly. “I’m a hairstylist.”

“Even better.” He smiled, taking the last sip of his drink. “If it makes you happy, that’s all that matters. I think I’m the only one in this family that understands that.”

“Where there’s one, there can be many more.”

“True. Taeyong, by the way.”

“Y/N.”

“I know. We all do.”

“Great.” You sighed in defeat. “Just great.”

“So, how did it go.” Johnny questioned as they closed the truck that held the last of the alcohol.

“Bad. I think. I should’ve did more to protect her. When she told me, I didn’t really sound like I cared even though I do. My mom is just-”

“Scary as shit.” Johnny finished for him.

“Exactly.”

“Johnny, may I have a moment with my son?”

“Yes ma’am.” He said, looking more terrified that Jaehyun had ever seen him. He ran away quickly.

“Everything alright?”

“Yes. I just wanted to tell you that your dad doesn’t think he’ll be able to make it.” Her voice was filled with sorrow.

“Oh.” Jaehyun sounded just as defeated. “Is he okay?”

“Yeah. Just got scheduled for more meetings. You know how it goes.”

He didn’t respond, deciding to listen to the sounds of nature around him.

“So about this Y/N girl.”

“I love her.” Jaehyun said before she could say anything else.

“Right.” She sighed.

“Did you not like her?”

“I just want what’s best for you. I don’t want you to end up with someone who’s only with you because of your last name or your looks.”

“Mama.” He grabbed her hands in his. “You raised me to be able to see who was using me and who wasn’t. Y/N didn’t even know about us and our wealth for two years straight. She loves me for me. I promise. I wouldn’t have brought her to you if I thought otherwise.”

“You’re right.” She shook her head. “Sorry for being so paranoid.

“It’s okay.” He took his mother in his arms, holding her tightly. “Just know that she won’t hurt me. And that I have good taste.”

“You said the same thing about Yuna.”

“When I was barely a man. It’s different this time. I mean it.”

“I know.” She said. She didn’t mean it though. If she had anything to do with it, you wouldn’t be together by the end of this wedding.

‘Wanna have dinner, babe?’ Heechul asked through the phone.

‘Aish I wish I could jagi but I am really busy working.’ You confess, shuffling around the papers on your desk.

‘You are always busy, Y/N!’ He whined, ‘I miss spending time with you…’

‘I miss you too but oh….I have to go Chullie, my boss came in.’ You hung up and Heechul sighed as he looked at the phone screen.

You and Kim Heechul had been a couple for two years. You worked for the advertising agency that hired Heechul for many of their adverts and commercials. At first you found him very obnoxious, but soon found him to be very shy around people he didn't know. After long phone calls, many texts  and a kiss under the moonlight, you became his. Heechul now sat in the studio with a sad sigh as Leeteuk walked in with a shocked look on his face.

‘Ah Heechul-ah, you still here?’ The leader asked.

‘I was about to leave,’ He stood up, ‘Why you here?’

‘I’m prepping for Produce 101 with BoA before she leaves.’ His dimple smile coming out, ‘Any plans for tonight?’

‘I was going to get dinner but Y/N is busy again.’

‘She seems to be busy quite a lot these days.’

‘More like weeks.’ His shoulders slumped, ‘I feel like her work is more important then me.’

Heechul felt a reassuring arm around his shoulders, ‘Don’t be silly, you know Y/N loves you. Go home and have a good dinner, bath and then get some rest. Okay?’

‘Thank you hyung.’ Heechul turned and hugged him

Walking towards his car he thanked Leeteuk mentally. Park Jungsu was not only his leader, but also his friend and brother. He always knew how to cheer Heechul up just like how Donghae knew how to calm him down. Driving home he arrived to an empty apartment. Shedding his clothing one by one, he entered the shower. The hot water soothed his muscles from a long day. Changing into some comfortable clothing, he poured himself some wine and went through his social networks. Scrolling through twitter, he all but spat out his wine at the picture on his screen. It was his lover with friends and out having dinner.

‘She said she working!’ He growled as he pressed dial on his phone to be taken straight to voice mail ‘What the fuck!’

Pouring another glass of wine, he began pacing up and down. Three glasses down, he started feeling dizzy as the sound of the front door opened and closed with you inside the house. You placed your keys and phone on the table before shedding your coat and hang it up behind the door.

‘So you ditch me to have dinner with your friends?’ His voice was low as you let out a little squeal.

‘Don’t do that!’ You held a hand to your chest, ‘And I didn't ditch you Heechul.’

‘Then what is this!’ He held the phone to your face with the picture on the screen.

‘Are you stalking me?

‘You forget you are the girlfriend of an idol, people are always watching!’

‘And they are dumb,’ You rolled your eyes, ‘It was a business dinner. We closing a deal with this major Japanese advertising agency.’

‘That still doesn't give you the right to lie to me!’ He threw his phone onto the couch.

‘BUT. I. DIDN’T!’ You spoke every word individually, ‘I said I was busy with work! What is with you, tonight!?’

‘You are always busy Y/N! Do you know I haven't once woken up to you in bed for the past month?’ He pointed out, ‘Or even gotten a proper conversation out of you?’

‘You know this is my work, Heechul.’ You defended, ‘Advertising is a 24/7 job.’

‘And so is a relationship, to which you have forgotten about!’ His eyes narrowed.

‘How dare you say that!!’

‘Simple. You have forgotten what it’s like to have the company of another!’

‘Why are you acting like a child, Kim Heechul?’ You asked, looking at him with stern eyes that was laced with tears.

‘BECAUSE I FEEL NEGLECTED!’ He finally exploded, walking with a slight wobble to you, ‘I have been put aside and placed second to your damn job!’

‘It must hurt to feel that way, hey?’ You asked with a raised brow, ‘Must hurts to be constantly put second because of a job, to wake up to a cold bed…TO SIT WEEKS WITHOUT A PROPER CONVERSATION! Now you know how it feels, because that is what I feel when you are constantly busy with you music and entertainment work.’

‘THAT IS MY JOB!’ He hissed, standing right in front of your face.

‘Are you drunk?’ You ask, smelling the alcohol on his breath.

‘That has nothing with what we are talking about now!’ Voice firm as you sniffed.

You knew that Heechul and alcohol was never a good thing. He never became violent but more vocal. More vocal than he already was a a sober human. Many times he had broken down in tears because of emotions that had been bottled up inside of him and had been released by a couple bottles of Soju.

‘You know what Heechul, I am going out.’ You turned on your heels.

‘We are not done here!’ Heechul held onto your arm.

‘Well I am!’ Your tone matched his, tears falling ‘You finally understand how it feels to be ignored and put aside because of work. That has been my life for two years now and not once did i ever complain! Now that I just happen to be busy, you feel like a neglected puppy. Well sorry Heechul but thats LIFE!’

Ripping your arm from his touch, you grabbed your keys and walked out the door. Tears streamed down your face as you ran to the elevator and eventually got into the car. Stepping on the gas you drove, to where, you had no idea. This wasn't the first time you fought as a couple, but it was the first time it had resulted into something like this. The evening sky weighed heavily down on you as you drove through the streets of Seoul.

Heechul sat on the couch with his head in his hands. He himself had tears in his eyes as he tapped the side of his head repeatably and cursed himself. He never looked at this from your perspective and he felt guilty for not trying harder. Lying down on the couch, his head spun around in circles from the wine that still ran rampant in his system. The tears caused him to close his eyes which had him down for a good two hours. Shooting up from the couch, he saw it close to be midnight.

‘Y/N?’ He called your name hoping you came home but received nothing back. Shuffling around he found his phone and called your number to only hear it ringing on the table, ‘How can she forget her phone!’

His head beat heavily from a headache as he started phoning every person he could think off. Call after call he was given the same answer to a point were his worrying  started to turn into a panic. Running out barefoot, he jumped into the car and started driving around. He thanked the gods that you took your car which would be easier to spot. Driving up and down his mind filled with frightening thoughts.

Not liking those possibilities, he stepped on the gas and didn't even care if he was breaking the speed limit. Place after place he fell short as he parked the car off and rested his head against the seat and thought hard. It had been a good hour and he still fell short of finding you. He hated the idea of you two fighting, but he also hated that you ran away. Sighing, a thought popped into his head and he was back on the road. Arriving, he jumped out and ran through the local park. The night was cold as he came close to a bridge that crossed over a small pond and found you sitting on it with your legs dangling over the edge and arms resting on the banister.

‘You know better than to run out.’ His voice causing you to sigh as he took a seat next to you.

‘And you know better then to run around barefoot,’ You pointed at his feet, ‘You going to get sick.’

‘And so will you.’ He pointed out as you both sat in silence for a few minutes before he spoke again, ‘I’m sorry, I never knew you felt that away about me working so much.’

‘I knew it was your job, Heechul,’ You confessed, ‘I understood.’

‘But you should have told me,’ He looked at you, ‘You are my girlfriend, and I am not a mind reader. You know I don’t know what goes through that pretty little head of yours.’

‘Just go home Heechul, I am not in the mood for your flattery.’

‘It’s not flattery when it’s the truth,’ He turned to face you, ‘Listen to me, Y/N. I felt hurt because its weird to think that you don’t need me as much as I want you to. A man is meant to provide for his lady and make her live a comfortable life, but you live a life of instant coffee, convenience store food and long working hours and I hate seeing you strain yourself.’

‘I know you hate the idea of me working but I enjoy it.’ You confess, ‘I need you very much, but not for your money. I can earn enough of that on my own, but all I need you for is to love and hold me through the nights and reassure me that I am not loosing my mind. Advertising can make a person mad.’

‘You should try being an idol.’ A slight chuckle left his lips as he held his head, ‘I am sorry for shouting at you, I was partially drunk as well and you know that never works well with me. But please tell me if you ever feel hurt in anyway because of me. I never wanna hear you suffering in silence. Kim Heechul treats his woman with honour, love and care!’

Inching close, you rubbed your noses together before placing a sweet peck on his lips to have him pull your lips back with a firm hand. Your initiation of the kiss was to just reassure him, but he wanted to prove his apology. Slowly yours lips moulded together with your  one hand wrapped around his shoulders and the other held his cheek lightly. His hands wrapped around your waist as he pulled you closer.  Heads tilted to the side, his tongue brushed over your lower lip asking for entrance. Smiling against his perfect lips, you opened your mouth and allowed his strong muscle to slip in. Air was needed as you broke apart and pressed your foreheads together.

‘And I love Kim Heechul.’

‘I want you to never hide your true feelings, okay?’

‘Never, now lets get you out the cold before you get sick, because a grumpy Kim Heechul is a pain in the ass!’

A/N: So I ran out of ideas on how to write variety shows like Idol Room so instead we’re getting Ask Us Anything/Knowing Brothers because I’ve been watching them a lot recently. Hope you all enjoy!

Soyeon was not the type to be nervous on variety shows, or any show, for that matter. Her first introductions to the show business had been on Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar, and both of those shows had readied her for the worst of the worst. Variety shows were easy compared to those, and she’d grown enough to be confident in herself. Nothing intimidated her anymore.

At least, that was what she’d thought. Then, she’d gotten an invitation to be on Ask Us Anything. Now, that show was easy enough. That wasn’t the intimidating part. The intimidating part was the fact that she’d be on the show with you: her long-time idol crush. And just the idea of that was terrifying.

“You’ve got this!”

“You’re cool! You’re awesome! You’re talented! You’re going to crush it and make them fall in love with you!”

“You’re the best!”

Soyeon turned to look at her members, a smile on her lips. They were all cheering her on, hyping her up before she left alone with the manager because they knew that she needed it. Not only was she going to be on the show with you, but she was also going to be on with you alone and without her members. It made her nervous, but she put on a brave face for the members.

“I know. I’ll do my best. Thanks, girls.”

“Are you sure you’re going to be able to face them alone?” Miyeon had her eyebrow raised, almost looking skeptical, but Soyeon shrugged her off and laughed.

“I’ll be fine.”

“Just don’t freeze up in front of them.”

“And remember to breathe!”

“And don’t use your awkward laugh, it’s scary.”

“Okay, wow,” Soyeon said with a playful huff. “I’m being attacked.”

“Only because we care about you.”

Rolling her eyes, she stepped out the door with a wave. But the girl’s reassurance did make her feel a bit better, and she took a deep breath as she got into the car. She could do this.

Somehow, you were even more attractive in person, and Soyeon wasn’t so sure she could do this. She’d stumbled through her greeting, bowing to you, but thankfully you’d smiled, apparently not phased by her terribly awkward introduction. There wasn’t much interaction, not before the show, so Soyeon had the rest of the waiting time to ready herself before going on with you. When she was called for shooting and stepped out of her dressing room, you were standing outside, and her mouth went a little dry. How did you make the tacky school uniform look so good?

“Ready to go, Soyeon?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” she said, trying to get back her cool demeanor. Although she was pretty sure that you’d already seen how uncool she could be.

The fake Ask Us Anything classroom was smaller in person, especially with how many staff were in the back, and how many cameras crowded the sides. Yuqi had told her a little bit about what to expect, since she had been on the show before, but Soyeon was still a little taken aback by the size. For a while, the distraction of the classroom and the hosts made her forget about her nervousness, but then she turned and looked at you when you spoke and it all came rushing back.

As much as she tried to act like nothing was up, she was pretty sure that fans would notice. Especially when she managed to get every single one of your questions right, or when she stuttered when you told her that you admired her rapping. In fact, she stuttered a lot more than usual, so much so that the guys noticed and teased her about it.

“Soyeon, are you okay? You seem a little nervous!”

“Are you that big of a fan of (Y/N)? Or is it one of us?”

Laughing, she waved her hands, trying to wave away the embarrassment. “I’m a big fan of (Y/N). They’re really cool in person, so I’m a little nervous.”

“This is the first time I’ve seen Soyeon like this,” Heechul pointed out, “she’s usually so cool and charismatic. Who knew that Soyeon could be a fangirl too?” The rest of the guys whistled and teased, making her blush. But as she turned to look at you, you looked like you were blushing a bit too, and it made her heart jump. Was she just imagining things? Or was this for real?

“How does having a fan like Soyeon make you feel, (Y/N)?”

“Flattered,” you said with a smile, and she could tell that you meant it. “I’m a fan of hers as well. She’s really good at rapping and making songs.”

Soyeon felt a bit like she might explode at your compliments, and internally, she was screaming and squealing, but outside, she just smiled and nodded, bringing up her hands to cover her mouth. “Woah, that’s crazy.”

“We have a couple here!”

“Wow, this is so cute!”

“Soyeon is a successful fan.”

The show moved on, but the guys were always quick to tease both you and Soyeon about it, making both of you laugh nervously (or giddily, depending on the moment). It was a little awkward, and the entire time, Soyeon’s heart felt like it might beat out of her chest. Any time she got close to you, butterflies started up in her stomach, and all her charisma seemed to fly out the window. Thankfully, though, she managed to get through the show, and when they said the ending lines, it was almost a relief.

Still, as relieved as she was, she found herself not wanting to leave. At least, not wanting to leave you. As everyone milled around, thanking each other for their hard work and wishing them a good night, she found herself walking back to the dressing room with you.

“You did great today,” you said with a smile, and her heart started up again. She couldn’t even look you in the eye as she replied, too nervous.

“T-thank you. I appreciate that, coming from you. You did amazing as well.”

“I didn’t realize I had such a cool fan.” You laughed, and it was like music to her ears. “I had fun today, though, thanks to you.”

“Oh, I’m glad!” She laughed as well, awkwardly, not knowing what else to do. “It was an honor to be on with you.”

“The honor was all mine.” The dressing room was right ahead, and as she stopped and turned to face you, ready to wish you a good night, you held out a piece of paper. On it was your phone number and a smiley face, and Soyeon almost passed out then and there. “I’d like to keep in contact with you, if that’s okay.”

“Yeah? Yeah that’s more than okay!” Her hands shook as she took the paper from your hand and gave you a smile. “I’ll text you, then?”

“Please do.” You smiled and gave her shoulder a little pat. “Have a good night. I hope I can get to know you more in the future, Soyeon.”

“Good night.” You walked away off to your own dressing room, and Soyeon watched you go, feeling a little dizzy. Then, as her manager called her name, she snapped out of it, looking down at the paper in her hands. Was this for real?

“Soyeon, hurry and get changed, we need to go!”

Smiling, she clutched the paper to her chest and hurried into the dressing room. It was real. She had really just gotten your number. And you had really just told her that you were her fan. Squealing quietly, she jumped a bit in celebration before slipping the paper into her pocket and taking a deep breath to settle herself. She couldn’t wait until she got back to the dorms to show the girls the paper. They were going to lose it.

They had been right: she was totally a successful fan. And she was super excited to see what would happen now.
